Your path to impacting young learners

Make a positive difference in the lives of children up to age 8 with your Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education degree from Chatfield College. You’ll develop knowledge and skills required to become a licensed preschool teacher or childcare center worker and director. Most students at our St. Martin and Over-the-Rhine campuses finish this program in 3 years and start their career or transfer to a larger college or university.

Learn what employers need you to know

Schools and childcare centers have specific requirements you must meet to get a license to work with young children. You’ll meet those requirements as you learn about:

Besides learning from experienced, tech-savvy teachers in Chatfield classrooms, you’ll also have student teaching experience working directly with kids.

  • Professors share real scenarios they’ve dealt with and encourage you to find unique solutions.
  • Gain nearly 300 hours of hands-on experience through student teaching.
  • Learn what’s on Ohio’s licensing exams and how to pass them with confidence.
